Suspects found after shooting on 9th and 10th Avenue

The Yuma Police Department have found the suspects involved in the alleyway shooting of the 900 block between 9th and 10th Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

At around 5:10 p.m. the suspects’ vehicle was seen in the area of 16th Street and 4th Avenue. As the vehicle attempted to flee the area, it collided into a tree in the alleyway between 7th and 8th Avenue causing the suspects to flee on foot.

Both suspects were located a t 5:50 p.m. and arrested in the 800 block of 8th Avenue South. They are identified as 25-year-old Jose Lopez and 23-year-old Hector Hernandez.

Both suspects will be booked.

Officials said the shooting happened around 12 p.m. in the alleyway of 9th Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue.

According to a witness one victim was shot in the left leg and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The victim is being described as a man with non-threatening injuries that he received in his left leg and is now being treated at the hospital, according to officials.
