AMBER Alert cancelled; Child found

Yuma Police Department arrested Alfredo Lopez, 23, after he was accused of abducting 1-month-old Azriel Lopez on Wednesday.

The abducted baby has been located by police.

Lopez was detained by the Yuma Police Department shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

He will appear in front of a judge July 28 at the Yuma Superior Court. His bond is set at $100,000.

According to YPD, Lopez is the father of Azriel. However, he has no parental rights.

Police responded to an aggravated assault call at the 4100 block of W. 20th Place at 3:06 a.m.

When officers arrived, they learned the infant had been abducted and immediately activated the AMBER Alert.

According to police, Lopez took Azriel by force at 3:06 a.m. from the 4100 block of W. 20th Place.

3 people were assaulted during the abduction. Police said Lopez assaulted a 23-year-old woman, a 47-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man.

Two of the victims were transported to the Yuma Regional Medical center for the treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Moreover, he was driving a black 2011 GMC SIERRA with Arizona license plate BVD1716.
