Yoga Workshops

Bring your mind, body, and spirit together with Yoga! On July 18th and 21st, Certified Yoga Instructor Gary Sherman will lead two workshops at 10:30 a.m. at the Foothills Library.

Yoga is an ancient Hindu practice for improving health, reducing stress, and increasing balance and flexibility. There is no charge to attend the workshops.

Chair Yoga – Tuesday, July 18th @ 10:30 a.m.

This gentle form of yoga is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. Learn basic poses and breathing techniques.

Hatha Yoga – Friday, July 21st @ 10:30 a.m.

Learn beginners’ poses and relaxation techniques. Please bring your own mat or towel.

Border Patrol Boot Camp for Teens

Teens can get fit at the library! Border Patrol officers will lead teens ages 13-17 through Border Patrol Teen Boot Camp at Yuma County Libraries July 19th-26th. Participate in stretches, mild exercises, and learn the importance of healthy eating and staying hydrated.

There is no charge to attend; however, registration is required, and permission slips must be turned in before the time of event. Permission slips are available at all libraries. For more information, call Lauren Regenhardt, Teen Services Manager, at (928) 373-6487.

Summer Business Series: Business Plans 101

In July and August 2017, the Yuma Main Library, in collaboration with Vanessa Castillo, will host a Summer Business Series at the Main Library. Aspiring entrepreneurs, small business owners, and students are invited to attend workshops focusing on business plans, marketing, and social media.

Vanessa Castillo, local small business consultant and digital marketing expert, will present “Business Plans 101” on Friday, July 21st, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A. Learn about the key components of a business plan and how to incorporate them into a formal document.
