1 dead in single-vehicle crash near a residential area

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on East 26th Place in the Fortuna Foothills Wednesday night.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Alameda Avenue and East 26th Place in the Mountain View Estates.

The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim will be released, pending notification of next of kin.

YCSO said their investigation is ongoing.
