PET TALK: Meet “Steve” and “Simba”
In this special holiday edition of Pet Talk, we meet a curious cat named Steve and a Shar Pei mix named Simba. First is Steve, a charcoal and white domestic short haired cat. Steve’s name should of been curious George because this cat loves to explore. Surrendered by his owner due to having too many cats, Steve would make for the perfect companion for someone who wants an active feline. He’s around 1 year in age so he still has a lot of growing up to do and while Steve is very friendly, he’s not the biggest fan of being held and prefers to do his own thing. Steve has been at the shelter for almost a month. Next we have Simba. A beautiful silky black Shar pei lab mix. Simba was discovered in Yuma and kind of grew up at the shelter. They found him when he was a puppy and he immediately got adopted, however due to his dislike of other animals in the home, he was returned. It’s important that whomever adopts him has no other animals around as it’s apparent Simba likes to be the center of attention. He loves the water so anyone willing to take him to the lake or pool is a desired candidate for Simba’s forever home. He has been at the shelter since the end of May. If you are interested in either Steve or Simba, you can call the Humane Society of Yuma at 928-782-1621. They are open Tuesday through Sunday.
