Special donation made to fire department

A donation was made at Yuma Fire Station #1 of a handcrafted flag of support for firefighters on Friday. The flag was made for YFD by Guillermo Garcia. Guillermo is an officer with the Yuma Police Department and enjoys woodworking as a way to relax from his stressful profession.

YFD said Officer Garcia’s artwork is greatly appreciated. The 32″ x 62″ wooden “flag” represented hours of work and is expected to be displayed proudly at Station #1. Guillermo’s family was on hand for the presentation, with Assistant Fire Chief Dustin Fields, Battalion Chief Richard Root, Fire Captain Kris Leon, and Fire Captain John Louser representing YFD.
