Deputies look for three men after shooting

A man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was allegedly hit with a car and shot at by three men.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the incident happened on Fifth Street and May Avenue at around 2:25 p.m. on Monday.

Deputies said the victim claimed three Hispanic men with their faces covered, drove up in a gray or silver 2-door car with no front bumper and asked him his gang affiliation. The men then jumped out of the car and dropped a weapon.

When the victim tried to run the driver of the car hit the man with the car. The victim was able to get up and continue running. However, the suspects allegedly fired to shots in the victim’s direction as he ran away.

The suspects were able to flee the scene before deputies got there.

Deputies said the case remains under investigation.
