Trailer fire leaves Yuma woman homeless

A trailer home was declared a total loss by firefighters on Sunday. According to the Yuma Fire Department, crews received the call after 5 p.m. on Sunday and responded to the 900 block of 1st Avenue. Moreover, officials said no one was inside the home and no one was harmed. Michelle Canas, the resident of the trailer home said she’s amazed she wasn’t inside her home at the time of the fire. “I’m just very shocked,” Canas said. “I’m always in there, I was just getting ready for church and then all of a sudden [I saw smoke.]” The cause of this fire is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.
