Yuma Jaycees Helping Forces Fighting Overseas

While many Americans used today to enjoy the freedoms provided to us by the men and women that laid down their lives in the pursuit of peace, one local organization took it one step further. The Yuma Jaycees held their 9th Annual Troops Benefit on Monday; the event is a family affair open to the public.

Jumpers, snow cones, live music and a feast were all provided to raise money for their Troop Car Package program. The money raised during the benefit goes to pay for items that will be shipped to troops fighting overseas. Small items like baby wipes, beef jerky and playing cards can make the difference for those fighting on foreign soil.

Although the event has passed the Yuma Jaycees will continue to accept items and monetary donations.
