Border Patrol agents seize meth, heroine and $18K in cash
A man was arrested after U.S. Border Patrol agents found more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine, 20 pounds of heroin and cold hard cash.
Agents said they pulled over a 27-year-old, U.S. citizen driving a 2003 Honda Accord on Interstate 10 near Eagle Mountain Road.
Agents were able to find the drugs with the use of K-9 officer in the driver’s side rear-quarter panel.
Sixteen bundles of black-tar heroin, 18 bundles of meth and $18,000 in bulk cash were seized.
“This was great work by our agents discovering the narcotics and cash,” said David S. Kim Assistant Chief Patrol Agent, “These dangerous substances were intercepted and seizing the cash always hurts criminal enterprises’ bottom line.”
Agents said the drugs could have sold for almost $300,000 in the streets.
The man, the car he was in, money and drugs were all turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
