Topic of the Day: Relay Teams in Home Stretch

13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:

There are many truths to living in the Desert Southwest; our summers are warmer than most and during the winter months our population more than doubles. But, another truth known primarily to those that live here is that we wear our hearts on our sleeves and when someone needs help, the community comes to their aid.

And, it’s that very fact why each year Yuma County is one of the top fundraisers for the American Cancer Society. Citizens and companies alike assemble to raise money for cancer research whether it’s through take-overs, selling dinner plates or a number of other money-making activities and it all goes to help those fighting for the right to live.

On Saturday April 29th, hundreds will gather for one final push to reach their goal of $225,000 and every penny counts. So far this years relayers have raised a little more than half of their goal. Now, if you’d like to help you can log onto their site and make a donation.
