Local art gallery hosts grand opening

Paintings on the wall, jewelry and eccentric centerpieces are all part of the new art gallery located on Second Avenue.

The Littlewood Fine Arts and Community Gallery is now open to the public. The gallery features art belonging to 25 artists who are both, children and adults.

The president and founder of the gallery said kids’ participation at the gallery is important and gives them a sense of ownership.

“It gives them a sense of pride, they see their piece and say, ‘Look mom!’. Some of them are selling them and donating a portion to the ‘Kids Room’. That’s phase 2, after the grand opening, we are going to start working on the on-site child care area,” said Lea Littlewood, who is the president and founder.

The gallery is located at 1480 S. Second Ave., it opens Monday through Saturday and it will provide art classes for children and adults.
