Clinic program shut down leaves patients frustrated

A local pain management program shut down it’s services, according to the clinic representative.

Bio Family Clinic in Yuma canceled their Pain Management Department two weeks ago. A former patient reached out to 13 On Your Side, to explain the consequences he faced as a result of the department’s closure. William Bircher suffers from a chronic pain condition and he said he heavily relied on the medication the clinic was providing. “I’d like to know what happened,” Bircher said. “How [can] a pain clinic just all of a sudden shut down a patient and not give them any aid? I’d like to know what happened to the Bio Clinic.” A patient walking into the clinic on Wednesday said she was frustrated by the sudden change as well. A representative with the clinic’s corporate office said she couldn’t release a statement in response. Moreover, she said a doctor would contact us. 13 On Your Side has yet to hear from the doctor. 13 On Your Side will continue to investigate the issues behind this closure. If you’ve encountered a similar issue with the clinic, email our reporter: vanessa.dillon@kswt.com
