Fire crews battle flames at palm tree farm

Rural Metro Fire Department responded to a debris fire at the 4100 block of Avenue A on Saturday. According to officials, fire crews responded to the scene before 6 p.m. Charly McMurdie with the Rural Metro Fire Department said officials battled the fire burning mulch at a Palm Tree Farm in Yuma. Moreover, McMurdie said crews will be working overnight to monitor the flames. Although the fire is contained, authorities said the flames will continue to produce heavy smoke overnight. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Rural/Metro.
