Topic of the Day: No Guns for MMJ Cardholders

For many Americans the legalization of medical marijuana is seen as a victory; but that win has come at a price. Reports are still surfacing of medical marijuana cardholders being denied the purchase of a firearm.

Last year the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals settled a lawsuit claiming the ban violated cardholder’s 2nd Amendment rights which judges ruled against it. According to the ruling federal law still considers marijuana a narcotic and by having a medical marijuana card you’re admitting to breaking federal law.
