Topic of the Day: New Program Can Reduce Fines

13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:

It’s an unsettling sight for many drivers; seeing flashing lights in your rear view mirror. Facing the consequences of breaking a traffic law can mean court dates and fines and for many the cost can be too much.

That’s where a pilot program in Yuma County comes in, drivers with outstanding fines are being given the opportunity to clear those fines and their records; in some cases cutting the fine in half.

Now there are some stipulations; your fine must be in collections for two years, must be a civil offense and you must pay the remainder of the fee in full.

13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:

Do you think this will encourage people to pay their fines?
