Sex offender gets new address

A level 2 sex offender who was convicted of sexual assault 2nd degree has moved to a new address, according to Yuma County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Samuel J. Thorne, 24, now lives in the 700 block of S. Laguna Dam Road.

Thorne was convicted in Cleburne County Court, Arkansas in 2013 and sentenced to 120 months in prison. Deputies say the victim was a 12-year-old girl who was known to him.

Thorne is currently under the supervision of the Arizona Department of Corrections parole.
