Second suspect arrested in armed robbery at McDonalds

A second suspect involved in an armed robbery at a local McDonald’s has been arrested.

Christopher Young Jr ., 22, was arrested and booked on aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges.

The first suspect, Anthony Mendoza, 22, was arrested on January 13 and is facing charges for aggravated assault and armed robbery. He pleaded not guilty is his recent court appearance on January 18.

YPD said the incident happened around 6:35 a.m. on January 13. Officers responded to McDonald’s, 2560 S. Fourth Ave. for a report of shots fired.

The initial investigation revealed that an armed robbery took place in the parking lot and undisclosed items were taken from the victim. Police said two shots were fired from a hand gun while two suspects were seen fleeing from the scene on foot.

There have been no reports of any injuries or damage to any property at this time.
