$500K bond for Yuma woman suspected of shooting husband in the face

A Yuma woman, Paula Eure, is being held on a $500K bond after deputies say she shot her husband in the face.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Deputies say 62-year-old Eure shot her 70-year-old husband Thursday morning.

Deputies say they responded to a 9-1-1 call at 8:42 a.m. on January 12th in reference to a shooting on the 11400 block of 39th Lane in the Foothills area.

Deputies say the couple had started fighting the night before and the argument carried into the next morning. They say Eure shot her husband when he was coming out of the bathroom.

Upon arrival, deputies say they spoke to Eure who stated she had shot her husband in the face.

Deputies say they found the victim in the master bedroom with a single gunshot wound to his face. He was treated and taken to YRMC where he was later flown to a Phoenix area hospital.

The victim’s condition is currently unknown.

Eure is next due in court on Wednesday.
