Topic of the Day: Remembering Pearl Harbor

President Franklin Roosevelt called December 7, 1941 a day that will live in infamy; the day Japanese forces attacked Pearl Harbor.
Referred to as a surprise attack, forces from the Empire of Japan attacked the U.S. Pacific Fleet in an effort to thwart America from interfering with Japanese operations.
While the countries were involved in peace negotiations Japan’s fleet armed with bombers and submarines made it’s way to Hawaii. The attack that lasted two horrific hours ended costing America the lives of thousands of Sailors, Marines, Soldiers and civilians also leaving thousand more wounded.
The Battleship USS Arizona was sunk taking 1,177 with her, the Oklahoma was also sunk and 429 sailors were lost. Many other battleships, carriers and destroyers were also hit but were repaired. The attack forced the U.S. to fight in World War II.
