Fourth Avenue reopened after car accident

Fourth Avenue is now reopen after it was temporarily closed due to an accident at the 18th Street intersection.

The Yuma Police Department received the call regarding the accident at approximately 6:30 PM Wednesday evening. The accident involved two vehicles–a Hyundai Santa Fe with out-of-state license plates and a Chevy pickup truck.

According to YPD, one of the vehicles was traveling southbound on Fourth Avenue when the second vehicle cut across Fourth Avenue at 18th Street and failed to yield at the stop sign.

The Yuma Police Department directed traffic to take a detour and avoid the wreckage from the accident.

A driver of one of the vehicles was transported to the Yuma Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. The current conditions of all individuals involved in the accident are unknown. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
