Border Patrol impounds fake IID truck

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a man who was driving a fake Imperial Irrigation District (IID) truck near the Calexico east port of entry.

Border Patrol issued a press release Tuesday where officials say agents got a call reporting group of illegal immigrants who had entered the U.S. Monday night.

Agents showed up to one of IID’s hydro-electric plants near the All-American canal where they found the truck. The the IID decals were counterfeit and truck actually belonged to an Arizona insurance company .

The truck was impounded and the driver, an 18-year-old U.S. citizen, admitted to smuggling illegal immigrants. He was taken to the Calexico Border Patrol station for further investigation.

Agents arrested six illegal immigrants near the area in connection to the fake truck.
