Lynne Pancrazi discusses plans as Supervisor-Elect

Recently elected members of the Board of Supervisors for District 5 selected former Arizona State Senator, Lynne Pancrazi, as the county’s Supervisor-Elect. As a Yuma native, Pancrazi said she is looking forward to leading the people of Yuma, along with implementing new changes that would develop the county. Pancrazi said she has many priorities at the top of her list, as the Supervisor-Elect. Addressing the water issue is one of her primary duties, along with encouraging schools to push higher education, and economic growth. “I would like to see there be a class, an elective class, but a class where kids would have the opportunity to work on their resumes and work on their applications for college,” Pancrazi said. “Either that or maybe even a week long or evening class at the high school where the kids could fill out applications to different universities.” Pancrazi said school districts throughout the county are doing a great job encouraging today’s youth, but she also says creating new jobs for locals is an essential item on her list. “We are all in the same boat as far as not having enough jobs for the amount of people we have working here,” Pancrazi said. “And not having year-round jobs for those people. So that’s the goal, devleop the region not just us.” Pancrazi said her goal is to work closely with local cities, to develop the city of Yuma, along with other neighboring regions.
