Veterans Day events in Yuma and Imperial County
As we approach Veterans Day, a time to honor those who have served our country and all active-duty military, we wanted to let you know about all the local events happening in the Desert Southwest this Friday, Nov. 11. YUMA
Veterans Day Parade – The yearly tradition starts at 9 a.m. at the Yuma Mesa Shopping Center and heads south down Fourth Avenue. The parade is followed by a BBQ at the American Legion Post 19, located at 2575 S. Virginia Drive.
HOLTVILLE
The Third Annual 2016 Imperial County Veterans Day Parade is on Friday, Nov. 11, and starts at 10 a.m. (PST). The Parade runs along Fifth Street, from Walnut Ave. to Pine Ave. in Holtiville. There will be a pancake breakfast for Veterans hosted by the Holtville Fire Dept. from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.
EL CENTRO
The City of El Centro will be dedicating a “Wall of Honor” to the area’s Veterans at Bucklin Park in El Centro. The dedication takes place at 9:30 a.m. (PST). Parking will be available along the 8th street entrance to the park.
