Yuma Voters respond to Election Day

It’s finally Election Day and voters from all over Yuma County woke up extra early to cast their vote and beat those lines.

After a long dysfunctional election process, some voters felt a sense of relief and hope to submit their vote. Keli Osborn, has been apart of every election and felt she is exercising her right to vote in this election.

“it’s definitely been difficult process leading up to this,I think there’s been a lot of divisiveness throughout the process, and I’ll be happy to see this done and hopefully we can all come together after the fact and still function as a country.”

For some voters, they still didn’t feel convinced by the top two party candidates. Jesse Raul Barajas and Travis Crow are both from Yuma County and decided to go a different route.

Barajas explains to us, “I’m a type of dude that does his homework, maybe a little too much, and I’m also type of dude who’s unsatisfied with pretty much everybody so I use and abuse the “write in” option very much so for me the voting process was a little bit longer than most people.”

Crow hasn’t voted in forty two years, and coming out to vote in this election, he’s hoping to see change in the future.

“It’s my first time voting in forty two years, the republican and democratic are absolutely terrible, so I became a libertarian and voted for Gary Johnson so I want to see the change, I know it probably won’t happen this time but hopefully enough people start to open their eyes and realize and get back to where we’re supposed to be. “
