Brunswick Zone bought in auction

Good news for bowling fans in Imperial Valley Brunswick Zone bowling alley has been auctioned off to new owners.

Back in July, the bowling alley closed abruptly with little to no warning at all, leaving residents and fellow bowlers very upset.

“I couldn’t believe it because I have gone there like everyday, like since they were, since I started bowling,” said Bobby Brown, El Centro resident.

But Tuesday local bowling organization, Imperial Valley USBC posted an announcement on their Facebook page stating,

“I am very happy to announce that our bowling alley has been purchased by Marty Coyne and a group of local investors. The goal is to have the center open by the first week of December. League bowlers will start being contacted about leagues next week.”

A former employee who did not want to talk on camera told me that the bowling alley was sold at a local auction just this week.

Our news team reached out to Coyne and his team but have not heard back.

“I think it was a good idea to have a bowling alley down here because before we didn’t have nothing to do. I can’t wait till it opens up again because before i didn’t have nowhere to go bowl,” added Brown.
