BP Agent struck with concrete block in Calexico
A U.S. Border Patrol agent was injured after he was struck with a concrete block that was thrown over the U.S.-Mexico border fence.
A press release states the block, 4 inches in diameter, was thrown over the border fence by an unknown assailant who was in Mexico during the incident.
Agents say it all started when a man was seen on surveillance camera jumping the international-border fence near downtown at around 10:45 Sunday night.
The agent was struck with the block while he was trying to apprehend the man who crossed into Calexico illegally.
The agent only suffered minor injuries and did not want medical attention. No further information was released.
