$5,000 of sponsored adoptions extended at Humane Society of Yuma
T he Humane Society of Yuma hosted the Annual Family Fall Festival presented by Quail Construction on Saturday, October 15. 53 pets were adopted that weekend, utilizing $2,120 of the $5,000 sponsored adoptions granted by Quail Construction.
As the presenting sponsor, Quail Construction has decided to extend their sponsorship at both the Humane Society of Yuma and the PetSmart location from October 18 through Saturday, October 22.
T here is more than $2,800 of sponsored adoptions remaining, and the goal is to adopt 72 more animals this week at both the Humane Society of Yuma and at PetSmart.
“It’s our big annual adoption event and this year we’re really thankful to have a sponsor who’s sponsoring up to $5,000 we’re of adoption fees,” explains Director of Development Lana Shapiro. “That hasn’t been done before.
The festival featured fun booths, music, games and food for families and their furry friends. The festival has an exciting twist this year–adoptions are free for all who qualify as adopters.
“We’ve had a pretty good turnout,” continued Shapiro during the Fall Fest. “I’m happy to say that the community is pretty consistent with their support. This morning we’ve had already five adoptions. I think that’s a great start to the weekend.”
The shelter is not open on Sunday, however the PetSmart partner location is.
Every animal adopted is vaccinated and spayed or neutered before they go home. All dogs are microchipped, but cats are highly suggested to be microchipped.
