E cigarettes safety precautions

E cigarettes are the new craze! Every one is trying out the new alternative to smoking tobacco. Some say its better for you, others would protest. But one thing we know for sure is that more and more cases of e cigarette malfunctions are surfacing. Leaving users and even by standers with injuries and burns.

With the recent incidents of e cigarettes exploding, causing fires and injuries, we spoke to local sellers and the e cigarette community on the safety precautions they recommend to avoid malfunction.

John Beers CEO of R and B Retail Whole Sale Distribution noted that much of the issue is user error. “How something would explode in your pocket or over heat would be by leaving that button on that is actually heating that element up,” John noted. John stated that making modifications (mods) could be dangerous.

“You don’t know where the materials are coming from. Some shops offer the parts for customers to build the device themselves. This is a huge issue as the material can be cheap and the user is not a professional. Trying to save a few bucks could risk him his life. It’s just not worth it if you look at the severity of some of the users injuries after their devices blew up.” John stated.

De Vapors Vape Shop in Yuma AZ shop attendant noted that the most important thing an e cigarette user not to do is leave his batteries in his pocket. He recommended for users to make sure they buy e cigarette that have an automatic off switch. Local community users stressed the importance of going through a trusted source.

More and more regulations are currently surfacing in the e cigarette industry. Contact the FDA if you have further questions on regulations.
