Body found in Calexico backyard

Calexico police are investigating the death of a man who was found on Wednesday night in the backyard of a home. According to the Calexico Police Department, a home owner on Harrington Street called police on Wednesday night to report the body of a man in her backyard.

Police found the lifeless body of a Hispanic man between 25-30 years of age. No weapons or drugs were found on his body.

Police said no visible signs of traumatic injuries were seen on the body. The cause of death is unknown. “The coroner’s office will determine whether it was a homicide and the cause of death. And from there we’re going to continue our investigation to determine if it was a homicide and who’s the one who committed the homicide,” said Officer Jesus Serrano with CPD.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
