Car collision leaves one in serious condition
A car crash at the intersection of 8th Street and 5th Avenue leaves one with serious injuries.
The Yuma Police Department responded to an injury collision at 9:59am Wednesday morning.
Thirty-one year old Rene Fernandez, was driving a white Ford F150 north bound on 5th Avenue, when he failed to stop at the stop sign on 8th street, causing him to crash into a white Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection.
Martin Hernandez,62, the driver of the Pathfinder , was flown out to Phoenix in serious condition. Fernandez was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
A witness who did not want to be on identified, tells us that the Nissan Pathfinder was turned over on it’s side over the sidewalk. A group of people nearby pushed the vehicle over onto the street shortly after the crash.
