YCSO deputies book man on drug charges

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested a man they were looking for since early September and booked him on drug related charges. YCSO said they made contact with 47-year-old Ramon Silva Friday night in the 700 Block of S. May Ave.

Silva was arrested and transferred to the custody of the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force. YCSO said Silva was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for sales of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a firearm during a drug offense, possession of a firearm by a prohibited possessor, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful flight from law enforcement.

The incident stems from a search warrant issued in the 10200 block of S. Avenida Compadres in Yuma, Ariz. in early September. Deputies said the search led to the discovery of approximately 80.7 grams of methamphetamine, narcotic pills, multiple loaded handguns, and paraphernalia consistent with street sales.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at (928)783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office would also like to remind the public to report any suspected drug activity by calling the Sheriff’s Office or visiting our website at www.yumacountysheriff.org to submit an anonymous tip.
