Transitional Living Center Recovery hosts celebratory luncheon

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - A record-breaking Halloween event is already sparking plans for next year as more than two dozen local healthcare agencies came together to celebrate its success.

Transitional Living Center Recovery (TLCR) hosted a luncheon for the community partners who helped make its annual trick-or-treat event possible.

The free event at Carver Park has been going on for five years, and this year drew a record of over 6,000 people.

With 27 healthcare agencies taking part, organizers said it's about more than just Halloween fun. It's also an opportunity to connect families with local resources.

"To see so many agencies and people come together to make something free and beautiful happen for those that we all serve, it's magical and it's emotional and it makes me very happy," said Rick Ploski, founder of TLCR.

"We just went over next year's. We're already getting prepared. We got some ideas of what we want to see different in those types of things," said Carlos Flores, Operations Services Director for TLCR.

The luncheon also recognized this year's participants, including Debbie White with the Yuma County Drug Court alumni, who took home the award for Best Booth.
