Victims’ Rights Committee to host National Day of Remembrance for Victims in Yuma County

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Victims' Rights Committee is hosting an event to honor the memories of murder victims across Yuma County.

The event is taking place Friday, September 25, at the Yuma Arts Center, located at 254 S. Main Street, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to remember those who were murdered, the event will also recognize the impact of surviving family members, friends and loved ones, according to the committee.

Mark Martinez, Yuma City Council member and Chairman of the Victims' Rights Committee, will serve as Master of Ceremony, and several family members and friends of murder victims will also participate in the event, the committee said.

There will also be a Wall of Remembrance for family and friends to post pictures of loved ones who died at the hands of someone else, the committee added.
