Annual Children’s Festival of the Arts takes place in Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Hundreds of locals in Yuma attended the annual Children's Festival of the Arts on Saturday.

The event featured over 50 booths, many of them providing fun, hands-on activities for children to partake in.

Several teachers and students also received awards for their achievements in the field of arts.

Yuma Deputy Mayor Carol Smith says access to arts is not a privilege, but a necessity.

Event Organizer Ana Padilla says, "Everybody might think they're not a perfect artist, but that's okay. It's a way to express, relax, and have fun."

The event took over Main Street in Downtown Yuma from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
