Local celebrates 45+ years of service in the Yuma community

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Locals celebrated an accomplished individual with more than 45 years of service in the Yuma community this weekend.

Barbara Rochester is now enjoying her retirement. She spent decades supporting Crossroads Mission, hosting numerous fundraisers, supplying pantries in churches, and helping locals struggling with homelessness and addiction.

Her list of accomplishments and awards is impressive to say the least.

"My favorite thing about Barbara is her genuine heart she has for helping, touching, and making Yuma a better place to live. There's two people in this world I don't say no to. Thats my wife and Barbara," said Clyde Gill, a Yuma resident.

"What a wonderful day of appreciation Clyde Gill and the community put on for me," Rochester expressed.

Rochester says she plans to spend her retirement by continuing to help the Yuma community and going on fishing trips.
