Local state park to host book signing this week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A local state park is hosting a book signing about the state landscape.

Author Gerald Ahnert is presenting his newest book, "The Butterfield Trail Through Arizona's New Frontier," at the Colorado River State Historic Park Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

He will discuss the history about the Butterfield Overland National Historic Trail.

"It clarifies some of the questions that had been brought up by early research, and he also, in this book, lists all of the stage stations in Arizona, which his previous books does," said Tammy Snook, Park Manager of the Colorado River State Historic Park.

The Butterfield Overland Trail is 3,000 miles long and runs from Memphis, Tennessee to San Francisco.
