Applications being accepted for vacancy on Superior Court in Maricopa County
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - After Judge Laura M. Reckart announced her retirement, Maricopa County are now accepting applications.
From a press release, the applications are for the vacancy on the Superior Court.
Once the applications are in, the County will review them, interview the applicants, and recommend at least three nominees to the Governor.
Following that, the Governor will appoint the new judge.
How to apply
Overall, applicants can download the form off the Arizona Courts website.
Also, they can receive a paper copy from the Administrative Office of the Courts, Human Resources Dept. in Phoenix.
Not only that, applicants can call 602-452-3311 or email jnc@courts.az.gov as an alternative to request a paper copy.
Qualifications
Moreover, there are certain qualifications applicants must consider before applying, and they are:
- Must be at least 30 years of age
- Have good moral character
- Admitted to the practice of law
- A resident of Arizona for the past five years
- A resident of Maricopa County for the past year
Due date
The signed application and other paperwork, in both paper and PDF, are due on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 3:00pm.
The place to submit the paperwork is at the Administrative Office of the Courts, Human Resources Department in Phoenix.
