AWC to hold ribbon-cuting ceremony for new Transfer Center

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Western College (AWC) is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony next month to unveil their new Transfer Center.

In a press release, the ceremony is taking place in the 3C building of the campus, next to Starbucks, on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

AWC says the center is "designed as a one-stop shop to provide holistic support for students transitioning to a university, housing representatives from all three in-state universities: Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, and University of Arizona."

In addition, AWC says students will "meet with AWC personnel and university representatives to discuss all aspects of the transfer process and degree pathways," and there will be additional services that will include the following:

  • Financial literacy programs
  • Transfer workshops
  • University admission application workshops

This is to ensure that "students are equipped with the tools and guidance they need for a successful
transition," AWC says.
