Law school applications increase nationwide

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Law schools are seeing a surge in applications nationwide.

More than 64,000 people are applying this year, that's a 20% increase all across 200 schools according to the Wall Street Journal.

The McGeorge School of Law in California has seen a 25% increase in applications. Georgetown University's law school has 14,000 applications for just 650 spots.

Some students say political climate is the reason why they are chasing a law degree now.

Others see it as a more reliable career amid tech and government layoffs.
