A racist message found in a California high school locker room

FOLSOM, Calif. (NBC) - A racist message was found in one of the locker rooms of a California high school after a football game on Friday night, officials confirmed.

Accordingly, the incident happened sometime during the game in Folsom.

The graffiti, located in the visitor's locker room at Vista Del Lago High School, contained a racist slur.

Del Campo's football coach, Matt Costa, said his team walked into the locker room after the game and found the message on a whiteboard.

However, it is unclear who wrote the message. School officials suspect a group of four middle school students may have been responsible.

Fortunately, they are looking at video to identify them.

Furthermore, the Folsom Cordova Unified School District is investigating the incident, saying, in a statement, it "denounces and abhors racism."

As of now, Del Campo High School says it is looking into options to better protect lockers, so that people don't go in when teams are playing.
