Popular internet destinations suffer service issues due to ‘internal service degradation’

(NBC, KYMA) - Many popular internet destinations, including ChatGPT, suffered from service issues Tuesday morning after a major web infrastructure company said it was dealing with "an internal service degradation."

Cloudflare, one of the largest providers of internet services for websites, said just before 7:00 a.m. Eastern that it had begun investigating the issue.

According to Downdetector.com, a website that tracks service outages based on user reports, several major internet services appeared to have been affected by the Cloudflare issue.

These include those from X, Spotify, OpenAI and Amazon Web Services and Canva, when visiting affected websites, some displayed "internal server error" warnings. Others said, "Please unblock challenges.Cloudflare.Com to proceed."

In an update posted at 7:42 a.m. Mountain Time, Cloudflare said, "A fix has been implemented and we believe the incident is now resolved. We are continuing to monitor for errors to ensure all services are back to normal."
