YouTube to launch AI-assisted age verification system

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - YouTube will officially rollout its AI-assisted age verification system Wednesday as it cracks down on young users who lie about their age.

The AI will analyze the type of videos you watch and the longevity of your account to determine your age, regardless of the birth date you might have entered when signing up.

YouTube says if the system determines that a user is a teen, it will automatically apply age-appropriate experiences and protections.
