Duolingo replacing contractors with artificial intelligence

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Language learning platform Duolingo is replacing contract workers with artificial intelligence.

In an email, Duolingo shared it's on its LinkedIn that it's part of a company's plan to be more AI focused that will include not using contractors to do work that AI can handle.

Duolingo's CEO said that moving quickly to become AI first, despite technology not being 100% perfect, could lead to some occasional hits on its quality, but he said that the company cannot wait.

He acknowledged that the move could lead to less work and opportunities, but insisted the company still cares deeply about its employees.
