Sunset Health receives more than $113,000 grant from Arizona Complete Health

KYMA

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA) - Sunset Health announced Wednesday it received a major grant to bring more physicians to our area.

The more than $113,000 grant comes from Arizona Complete Health, with the funding supporting the launch of a new Family Medicine Residency Program, scheduled to begin next July.

It will help with physician shortages and expand access to healthcare to rural and underserved communities.

"This grant will help us with the recruitment and retention of those faculty members, and also for the recruitment and promotion of the program to recruit the best residents for the program and the infrastructure needed," said Natalia Galarza, Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program.

Sunset Health said the new residency program represents an important investment in the future of healthcare in our region.
