YRMC hosts medical career camp

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Local students had the opportunity to explore a future in health care.

It was all a part of the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) career camp.

More than 20 students experienced first-hand what medical positions are available at YRMC.

The group included high school and college students.

"I feel is very important for our community and our students to allow them to explore so many health careers within YRMC," said YRMC Volunteer Services Director Elizabeth Hammonds.

"Even though is not a class or anything, you still get the physical contact with patients, physicians, and everyone else," said San Luis High School Student Anali Rojas.

YRMC hopes this yearly event will attract more local students to work in the healthcare industry.
