Drug overdoses doubling over past 6 months.

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - More and more people are dying from drug overdoses, with the CDC saying deaths from drugs jumped 16% over the past year alone.

To put it in perspective, that's an estimated nearly 107,000 people who lost their lives because of an overdose--with synthetic opioids such as fentanyl to blame for the majority of those deaths.

And the numbers keep getting higher every year as annual drug overdose deaths have more than doubled over the past six years.
