CBP officers at San Luis Port of Entry arrest teen suspected of drug smuggling

A San Luis teen was arrested for an alleged attempt to smuggle methamphetamine through the Port of San Luis on Tuesday morning.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working the pedestrian crossing lanes referred to a fifteen-year-old, a United States Citizen for additional inspection as she attempted to enter the U.S., officers say.

According to officers, a canine alerted to a scent coming from the teen’s stomach leading officers to the discovery of two packages of methamphetamine taped to her stomach weighing three pounds, worth $8,000.

Officers seized the drugs, while the subject was arrested and then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
