Subaru recalls half a million vehicles over incorrect label

(NBC, KYMA) - Subaru is recalling more than half a million vehicles.

The Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Tuesday the vehicles were manufactured with an incorrect gross axle weight rating on the certification label. That could result in vehicle overloading.

Models under the recall include the 2019 to 2026 Ascent, the 2025 to 2026 Forester and Forester Hybrid and the 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid.

Vehicle owners can receive new certification labels through the mail or have them installed at a dealership free of charge.

Subaru says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries resulting from this issue in the United States.
