Father’s Day spending to reach record highs
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Dear old dad is likely to make out like a bandit this year, according to the National Retail Federation. Spending on Father's Day is expected to reach $24 billion in 2025.
That is a new record way up from last year's $22.4 billion.
About 8,200 survey respondents said that the average person plans to spend around $200. All that dough would go to things like greeting cards, clothing, a special outing, and of course gift cards.
Less than half of the respondents are buying for their fathers or stepfathers; though just over half of them are buying for husbands, sons, brothers, friends, or grandfathers.
Father's Day is on Sunday, June 15.
